Synästhetische Komponenten der Musikanalyse

The results of an empirical study on the connexion of ideas in the perception of musical and graphic structures suggest, that by significant graphic representation, corresponding musical structures can be synaesthetically expressed and understood. Opening up the visual sphere of meaning may bridge the gap between music and language and, together with an active appreciation of music, support the didactic theory of "aesthetic critique" (Morris).
