Triticale is human-created cereal very adapted to arid and semi-arid areas, known for its tolerance to drought and its resistance to diseases and insects, mainly Hessian fly.The limiting factor for triticale use by farmers and consumers in Morocco remains the quality, seed size and colour. Genetic improvement through crosses between parents with white grains and high yield potential cultivars aims to produce varieties that are productive with good technological quality.
