Entre la insurrección y la revolución: presión externa y polarización social en la Revuelta Libanesa

This article addresses the Lebanese Revolt that began on October 17, 2019. Firstly, it critically analyzes the characterization of the revolt; secondly, it inquires about the intersection between the revolt and the international system; and thirdly, it elaborates possible potential post-revolt scenarios through the prisoner’s dilemma. All that to characterize the political process, highlight the process’ dynamic, and the revolt’s international dimension. In other words, the article argues the Lebanese Revolt is an incomplete revolutionary process. More, its completion depends on the interaction between civil society and the sectarian-political elite in a context of increasing international pressure.Este artículo aborda la Revuelta Libanesa iniciada el 17 de octubre de 2019, para alcanzar tres objetivos. Primero, analizar críticamente la caracterización del proceso político; segundo, analizar su intersección con la dimensión internacional, y tercero, aplicar el dilema del prisionero para indagar respecto de los escenarios post revuelta. Todo eso con el objetivo de caracterizar la revuelta, destacar su dinámica y resaltar su dimensión internacional. En otras palabras, se propone que la Revuelta Libanesa es un proceso revolucionario incompleto. Más, las condiciones para su consumación dependen de la interacción entre sociedad civil y élite sectario-política en un contexto de creciente presión internacional
