Visión desde España Posconflicto Líbano

This article describes the challenges facing Lebanese society after a prolonged period of conflict in the new stage of social normalization and peacebuilding. In the light of this context, it describes the activity developed since the end of the conflict in 2006. United Nations (UN) involvement through its mission in Lebanon, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), has been of paramount importance in the consolidation of peace, but there are also to highlight the contribution of other international organizations and the great efforts of the Lebanese institutions. After the challenges of the necessary reforms, the reconciliation and general participation of citizens in political life are considered basic premises for the democratic functioning of the country. In addition, the collaboration and work of those involved in the conflict and the involvement and stewardship of the international community will help to avoid situations that may lead to a new conflict. Following a descriptive analysis of the vicissitudes that gave rise to the conflict in Lebanon and the current post-conflict situation, a series of conclusions are reached aimed at achieving lasting peace and stability.Este artículo describe los retos que se le presentan a la sociedad libanesa, tras un período prolongado de conflicto, en la nueva etapa de normalización social y construcción de la paz. A la luz de este contexto, se describe la actividad desarrollada desde que finalizó el conflicto en 2006. La implicación de las Naciones Unidas (NN. UU.) a través de su misión en Líbano, Fuerza Interina de las Naciones Unidas para el Líbano (FINUL), ha tenido una importancia capital en la consolidación de la paz, pero también hay que destacar la contribución de otras organizaciones internacionales y el gran esfuerzo de las instituciones libanesas. Tras los desafíos que representan las reformas necesarias, la reconciliación y participación general de los ciudadanos en la vida política se consideran premisas básicas para el funcionamiento democrático del país. Además, la colaboración y el trabajo de los que intervinieron en el conflicto, y la implicación y tutela de la comunidad internacional ayudarán a evitar situaciones que puedan originar un nuevo conflicto. Siguiendo un análisis descriptivo de las vicisitudes que dieron origen al conflicto en Líbano y la situación actual de posconflicto se llega a una serie de conclusiones dirigidas a conseguir una paz y estabilidad duraderas
