Modern technology which has seen video players, cameras and tapes become part of our daily lives. Educators have seen the value of videos in "getting the message across" with many educational sectors producing a wide range of videos on an even wider range of subjects where once slides and/or films would have been used. The Department of Agriculture has created 6 videos on a variety of topics - Soil Degradation - an Australian Crisis; Introduction to Wind Erosion; Introduction to Wind Erosion and Waterlogging; Soil Structure Decline; Saltland Management - A Catchment Approach and Shrubland Management - A Question of Balance. The videos have been produced for an audience who have no prior agricultural knowledge and no doubt district committees will find it useful in spreading the word about their activities in their areas. The Primary Industry Association of Western Australia has these video tapes for loan to branches and zones through their liaison officer, Felicity Malone.
