Soil from another angle

A feature of the Kondinin Group's Soil Savers Expo will be televised coverage of what goes on below ground level in the State's farming areas. Using a miniature camera and perspex tubing, this new system of measurement was co-developed by Dr Bob Belford of the Plant Research Division of the Department of Agriculture in Western Australia. The film produced will be publicly viewed for the first time at the Kondinin Group's display, and project officer Bevan Bessen considers its exposure a coup for farmers attending the Newdegate Field Days. The equipment and Dr Belford's presence at the Soil Savers Expo display are part of the Kondinin Group's aim to to bring information to farmers who want to know more about planning management of soil as a natural resource.
