Traumatism and its prevention in physical education classes Key words: traumatism, physical education class, children injuries. The aim – to analyze traumatism and possibility for actions to prevent injuries in physical education classes The tasks: 1. To indentify opinion of traumatism and its prevalence in physical education classes among boys and girls. 2. To indentify most often types, locations and causes of injuries in physical education classess among boys and girls 3. To indentify pupils opinion about traumatism prevention in physival education classes and compare it between boys and girls. Conclusions: 1. Half of all respondents had some injuries during physical education classes through all learning period. There is no statistically significant difference between boys and girls (p≥0,05). Most of all injuries occurred in the sports hall. Girls tend to experience more injuries outside that boys (p<0,05). 2. Both groups stated that most often injuries were: wrist and palm injuries, knee and thigh injuries, ankle injuries. Most often type of injury – contusion. There are statistically significant difference between groups in opinion about causes of injuries. In boys opinion, the most often causes – are movement mistakes, lack of methodology, poor material – technical base, bad body posture. In girls opinion – movement mistakes, contravention of safety rules, fatigue (p<0,05). 3. Most of resondents stated that teacher is always watching them during warm - up and also shows how to do tasks correctly. The most important tools to prevent traumatism acording pupils are: medical care, safe environment, effective warm – up.
