Stanisław Przybyszewski (1868–1927), an outstanding writer of Young Poland, succeeded in Odessa. His arrival in 1904 revived the artistic community, stimulated critics, literary historians, representatives of naturalism and supporters of modernism to a discussion on the "new art". What is interesting for a historian of Polish literature, is Przybyszewski's portrait, recorded in the press (his texts and analytical articles were published among others in "Wiesy", Odesskij Novosti", "Vestnik Ewropy", "Russkaya Mysl", "Zolotoe runo" [Golden Fleece]), also present in the memories of people, who undertook cooperation with him.
