INOVASI DINAS LINGKUNGAN HIDUP KOTA MALANG DALAM PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH ORGANIK DI TEMPAT PEMBUANGAN SAMPAH TERPADU TLOGOMAS

Looking at the condition of the waste problem in Malang City which has not been resolved optimally. Garbage in Malang City creates new problems in terms of management. The volume of waste every day in Malang City is high compared to other areas. Waste management needs to be done to reduce the decomposition of waste by destroying nature. The absence of special innovations for waste management makes it difficult for landfills to manage waste. Innovation needs to be done to provide convenience and time efficiency in waste management. The Malang City Environment Service as the executor of the task in waste control feels the lack of innovation in waste management, especially organic waste. With this background, DLH came up with the idea to innovate organic waste management technology by looking at the condition of the waste disposal site. Tlogomas Integrated Disposal Site is one of the implementers of technological innovation of waste management machines because of the high volume of waste that comes to the TPST every day. The purpose of this study is to explain the innovation of the Malang City Environmental Service in managing organic waste at the Tlogomas integrated waste disposal site. The data used are the results of interviews with several respondents from planning and implementing stakeholders of organic waste management innovation at Tlogomas TPST, documents from the Malang City Environment Service, Tlogomas TPST workers, journals, and books according to the research focus. Data collection techniques using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. While the data analysis technique uses several stages including data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this study indicate that the innovation of organic waste management in Tlogomas TPST is technological innovation. Technological innovation in the form of procuring organic waste chopping machines and compost sifting machines. Both machines overcome the problem of organic waste management by providing convenience and time efficiency in organic waste management. Garbage chopping machines can chop organic waste automatically and quickly to reduce labor if the waste counting is done manually. Furthermore, the compost sieving machine can sift the results of waste processing in the form of compost automatically and quickly, which is more efficient than manual. The program implementer is the Tlogomas Integrated Waste Disposal Site by receiving direction from the Malang City Environment Service as a waste control agency. From the two technological innovations, it can be seen the results of increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of organic waste management
