The course examines potential benefits v. risks related to physical activity, and general understanding of clinical and fitness terminology. It discusses and instructs applications of various, relevant pre-exercise and health fitness assessment tools for apparently healthy persons from which individualized programs can be designed. The course is intended to be an interactive learning experience between the lecture and lab portions, thus active participation in discussion and activities is not only encouraged, but mandated, and will serve as a basis for earning credit in class
