Realia used in Bilingual Versions of Instagram Captions of @aniyudhoyono in 2017

Translation is needed to connect languages to be easily understood by everyone from different languages. In certain cases, sometimes some words of the source language could not find the equivalent meaning. It has happened because the words come from a unique term that only exists in a particular culture, known as realia. Therefore, the researcher interested to analyze bilingual Instagram captions from (late) Mrs. Ani Yudhoyono's account because she was often using interesting bilingual Instagram captions (Indonesia-English) in her Instagram captions. This study aims to investigate and analyze the typologies and strategies of translation realia found in bilingual Instagram captions of @aniyudhoyono. The researcher used qualitative data in the form of words or statements from the subject who uses bilingual Instagram caption. The data source was taken from Mrs. Ani Yudhoyono's Instagram account who applies bilingual Instagram captions posts in 2017. Document analysis is the instrument of this study. The results of this study are found five typologies of realia, namely one historical realia, twenty-nine geographical realia, eight private-institutional realia, eleven public-institutional, and fifty-one social-cultural realia. The researcher also found six translation strategies of realia, namely forty-eight realia translated using maintenance, thirty-three realia translated using loan translation, seven realia translated using adaptation, six realia translated using description, two realia translated using generalization, and one realia translated using the combination. The most dominant typology of realia is social-cultural, and for translation strategy of realia is maintenance
