The article is an attempt to shed light on one of the most interesting issues on the crossroads of psycholinguistics and pragmatics – the picture of the world and the linguistic picture of the world as a means of shaping the speaking individual’s presupposition base, which allows him/her to communicate effectively in sociocultural ambient.
