REASON AND THE SENSES: PHENOMENOLOGICAL TENDENCIES IN ANTHROPOLOGY OF THE SENSES

Antropologija osjetila (anthropology of senses) naziv je koji se istaknuo između konkurentskih naziva kao što su osjetilna antropologija (sensorial anthropology) i osjetilna znanost (sensorial scholarship), a odnosi se na epistemološki pristup unutar antropologije. Osjetilna antropologija dio je “osjetilnog obrata” koji je zahvatio i antropologiji srodne discipline (humanu geografiju, sociologiju itd.), a sve je važniji od kraja osamdesetih godina dvadesetoga stoljeća. Autor opisuje glavne tendencije koje su utjecale na oblikovanje antropologije osjetila, s posebnim osvrtom na fenomenološku tradiciju.Anthropology of the senses is the term that has won recognition among competing terms such as sensorial anthropology and sensorial scholarship, and refers to the epistemological approach in anthropology. Anthropology of the senses has been part of the sensorial turnabout that has also enmeshed the anthropology of similar disciplines (human geography, sociology, etc.) and has been gaining in significance since the end of the 1980s. In this text, the author describes the main tendencies that have influenced the shaping of the anthropology of the senses, with particular emphasis on phenomenological tradition
