This article deals with the analysis of the academic trajectory of former scholarship holders of the Institutional Scientific Initiation Program - High School - PIBIC-EM, within the scope of High School Technical Courses, from the Federal Institute of Paraná, Campus Curitiba, from 2011 to 2017 It aims to investigate whether participation in PIBIC-EM helped to continue academic studies or whether it brought benefits in relation to the world of work and, also, to resume, briefly, the concepts of work as an educational principle and, also, the importance of research as an educational principle.
