Evan B. Strauss was photographed by Bretzman in 1930. The customer card listed him at two addresses; 918 North Illinois Street and 2432 North Central Avenue. The photograph was taken for "The Indianapolis News," a local newspaper. The city directory listed his residence at the Central Street address with his wife, Caryl. He worked at a washing machine company and she was the secretary for the company. The census for 1930 shows the couple were boarders at that address but their professions were different, he was the president of an electric supply company and she was a saleslady at a dry goods store. This image is a preservation copy made from an unstable original nitrate negative.
