In 1999, the Commission for Registration of Crop Varieties registered four vegetable cultivars developed at the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad, namely the pea cultivars Tamiš and Vitez, the bean cultivar Sremac, and the string bean cultivar Tisa. All these newly released cultivars produced considerably higher yields in the Commission's three-year trials than the standard cultivars.
