Бібліотерапевтичний інструментарій сучасної публічної бібліотеки

Relevance. A modern public library is the most available socio-cultural institu-tion for the population, which, due to its hedonic and recreational functions, has the opportunity to apply various bibliotherapeutic tools to user servicing. Currently, bibliotherapy is relevant, since it has powerful resources available for use that promote developing skills and abilities to confront extraordinary situations, to strengthen the will of power, to increase the educational and intellectual level with the help of the main tool, namely books and methods for its proper use in the context of psycho-emotional stress.The aim of this paper is to identify the current state and effectiveness of using the bibliotherapeutic tools in public libraries in the process of user servicing.Research methodology. The article examines the work of modern Ukrainian library institutions concerning the effectiveness of using the bibliotherapeutic tools. The author analyzes the carried out activities and substantiates the main areas of using bibliotherapy.Results. The paper states that libraries steadily implement the multi-functionality of bibliotherapy, but adult libraries insufficiently use the bibliotherapeutic resources and other popular therapies that provide real help in servicing all categories of users, namely, senior citizens, socially and economically disadvantaged groups, persons with disabilities, settlers, war veterans and others, involving a wide range of functions from rehabilitation to the development. This area of work of modern public libraries needs more systematic and goal-oriented implementation.Novelty. The paper is the first attempt to analyze and identify the current state and efficiency of using the bibliotherapeutic tools by public libraries in Ukraine in the process of user servicing.The practical significance. The author analyzes the functions of bibliotherapy and bibliotherapeutic tools, their use in public libraries, presents an idea of a wide range of opportunities for this area of user service.Досліджено діяльність сучасних українських бібліотечних установ щодо ефективності використання ними бібліотерапевтичного інструментарію, розглянуто сучасний бібліотерапевтичний інструментарій та його популярні напрями, проаналізовано діяльність бібліотек та проведені ними заходи, обґрунтовано основні напрями застосування бібліотерапії в обслуговуванні користувачів. Висновано, що бібліотека впевнено реалізує багатофункціональність бібліотерапії, але бібліотеки для дорослих ще не достатньо активно використовують увесь потенціал бібліотерапевтичного інструментарію та інших популярних напрямів терапії
