Oral History Interview with Dorothy Eck and Peter Koehn, circa 1972

During the first part of the audio, Dorothy Eck, the State-Local coordinator for the Montana State Local Government Study Commission, speaks to an unidentified group about the Commission. She describes the type of work the commission is doing to implement the local government aspects of the new 1972 state constitution, noting that the Bureau of Government Research at the University of Montana will be involved in providing communities and the state with research assistance to assist with implementation. She also details some funding sources available to help local communities do a review of their government for the study commission. During the second portion of the audio, Peter Koehn provides more context for Eck’s speech, and details the Bureau of Government Research’s role in the local government review process by conducting local forums.
