Bo It will servo as a publications advisory board to the Publishing Divisions and as an administrative committee for the Officer for Publications a C. In the committee structure of the University, the Publications Committee shall be responsible to the University Sonate. Da Organization of the Publications Committeei 1. The Publications Committee shall be a permanent standing committee of the univer sity and shall consist of five members as appointed by the President with the concurrence of the University Sonate, ff p*V (jz r th* V fj 2. The Busincss^OffIceland the Publications Office should be represented on the committee, E0 General functions of the Publications Committeo: 1, To formulate, and review periodically, the publications policies of the university, and make recommendations regarding them to the University Senate. 2= To initiate publications which by nature are university -wide rather than divisional in scope, 3. To establish an appropriate system of serial numbers for publicationso 4. To act as on advisory board to the Publishing Divisions in publication matters, and in this capac ity (a) to seek standardization of publishing procedures, (b) to seek the elimination of unnecessary duplication in the publications of the various divisions, (c) to review and make recommendations concerning any or all agreements with authors,- and (d) to bring to the attention of the appropriate publishing Divisions any manuscript which in its opinion merit publication. To determine its own free distribution list for each publication and to determine, after consultation with the Publications Committee, the selling price of such publications as may bo offered for sale - the proceeds of such sale to be creditod to the,divisional account* To negotiate agreements in appropriate cases (subject to review and recommendation by the Publications Committee), with authors of published works concerning' title-layout, tho distribution of copies, royalties, etc
