MINUTES OF MEETING OF COUNCIL June 15th 1927 PRESENT; Dr. Watson (in chair) Dr. MoClenahan, Messrs. McQuiston, Galt, Cleland, Garthoff, Jeffery. Mr. McQuiston led with prayer. MINUTESi Minutes of Meeting of May 28th and June 11th were passed with corrections. HtOPERTY COMMITTEE: Chairman of Property Committee presented Minutes of Meeting of June 11th reporting the transaction of routine business connected with the care and use of the Property. TE IE PHONES; It was resolved to abolish the present telephone exchange in the building and substitute five trunk lines as follows; American University at Cairo 1. Office of Bursar 2. College Office 3. Dr. McClenahan and Dr. Watson 4. School of Oriental Studies 5. Extension Department. DR. WATSON’S CAR; The question of selling Dr. Watson’s car was turned over to Mr. McQuiston to handle. S.O.S. REORGANIZATION; President reported that the S.O.S. Faculty had appointed Mr* Elder to act as Chairman. DEFINITION OF DUTIES OF COUNCIL OFFICERS AND COMMITTERS. The President was asked to prepare for discussion a memorandum defining the duties and scope of activity of the various Officers and Committees appointed by Council. PROFESSIONAL STATUS; A memorandum on the question of Professional Status of the members of the Staff was up for discussion, and it was reported that the matter was still under consideration by the Board of Trustees.
