Fahmy, Mr. Duggan. 1. Status and Problems of the New Library: Mr. Snaith briefed the members of the Committee both on progress to date on site and on the work still to be completed in accord­ance with the work completion schedule. He stated that although much progress had been made during the last three months - third floor almost completed, walls cleaned, concrete laid, half of second floor ceiling installed - the installation of the aircondi­tioning plant room had now become the critical area. It was brought to the attention of the Committee that Catrig, the company charged with the airconditioning installation, was not back on site despite the fact that agreement had now been reached on in­flation adjusted compensation to cover delays for which they were not responsible. Eng. Fahmy informed the Committee that Catrig had promised to start work in the plant room on February 7. He also reported that Speco was working well and he was therefore hopeful that the target completion date of end of March might still be achieved. Most of the items needed - louvers, wooden doors and metal door frames - were now on site, but replacement glass was still awaited
