Crary, Devine, Hannon, Hedlund (Chairman), OIConnor, Pedersen, Stone, Wadsworth. 1. Student/Faculty Concerns - were outlined by President Pedersen. Student concerns include: tuition, food services, hostel charges, book charges, sports facilities, and academic credit for sports participation. The issue surrounding former President Thoron has apparently faded away. FacuHy concerns include salary levels, differentials between Egyptian and U. S. facuHy, and the facul ty role in Uni vers ity governance. 2. Current Academic and Educational Enterprise Prospects Income from the AID/ELI project may drop. The General Organization For Industry (GOFI) is. going to conduct a major AID-financed management training program. AUC won handily over a large field of bidders, many of whom were big and prestigious companies. The University could make up to $1 million in profit by participating. However, there are internal problems to resolve before AUC can participate: faculty members who work in the program will receive higher pay than their coll eagues who do ·not; and some facul ty members a re concerned that the program .will not be purely academic
