C OT x'EREïTCE ON MIDDLE EAST The. possibility and alvisability .of the Board of Trustees spònsoring a conferéncé7óncsome aspects of Middle East prob-lems was discussed, such as the one held in Princeton several years ago with Dr. Bayard Dodge. This was approved in prin-ciple and Drs. McLain, Dirks, Howard and Van Vleck were re-quested to study and to report on possibilities at the Jan-uary meeting of the Board. .It.w?s indicated that the Hazen Foundation might be interested in financing it. 84.4-. . . FIRE ESCAPE ,APPROVED Dr. McLain read the report on Buildings and Grounds. In ac-cordance with item f, it was voted THAT authorization be• given the Administration for the con-struction of the fire escape with the request that, if pos-sible, it be incorporated in the buildings and g'^ounds budget for 1956-57. 845. EXECUTIVE SESSION The Board adjourned to a brief executive session at which the following action was taken: TH,iiT the President confer with Miss Lister to make sure that the increased costs in her move to New York are adequately covered; also That the President check with Dr. Howard on the same question as applying to him; and clear the matter with the Chairman of the Board and thus make the required change, if any, in the budget.
