This move and the action to place the staff of the School of Oriental Studies on salary basis rather than "piece work" has led to new rrora le among our Egyptian friends. With regard to pension, the Egyptian government now reqùires a 7R0 retirement-insurance program for all employed person-nel. This matter is under advisement at AUC. Sabbatical leave was discussed and. Dr. Dirks suggested (per page 8 of this Report) that any grant secured for study be 'considered in deciding the University's responsibility in each case.
