121 (1) That the present departmental development might well be ad-justed to secure a closer cooperation of the departments; (2) That native leadership be increasingly sought; (3) That the wisdom of abandoning the Egyptian Secondary Course at the present time be carefully re-studied; (4) That the development of courses leading to the London Matric-ulation examinations and, also, the maintenance of the additional years of study for the American B.A. merits approval. (5) That the present religious policy of the College be endorsed and be strengthened by the addition of a staff member who shall give his entire time and thought to developing and applying Christian in-fluences both in the College and in the University as a whole. (6) That the support and cooperation of the British and American missions in Egypt be sought in any new educational ventures of the University. The report ab a whole was unanimously adopted. (See Ap- .pendix IV ) . • #313. REPORT OF' The report of the Committee on. Grounds and Buildings THE COMMITTEE ON (Appendix V) was presented by Lir. Robert Killough. GROUNDS AND BUILDINGS The Report was approved and the following recommendation adopted: THAT Council in Egypt give the fullest possible consideration to the sale of a section of the land at the north end of the city site to the City of Cairo for street purposes at a price that would net the University approximately $95,000; if necessary, making arrangements for the payment of this amount over a period of from two to five years. Of all the plans presented, this one seems to yield the most money with the smallest possible sacrifice of the very important city site and this one alone receives the unanimous endorsement of the Committee on Grounds and Buildings. #314. REPORT OF The Report of the Finance Committee (Appendix VI) was THE FINANCE COMMITTEE presented by Mr. Harbison and the following recommend-ations were adopted: THAT the Treasurer or the Assistant Treasurer and the Chairman or Vice-Chairman of the Finance Committee or the Executive Sec-retary be and they hereby are authorized and directed to sell, assign and transfer all stock and registered securities owned and held by this University in any capacity and to execute such assign-ments and powers of attorney as may be necessary, proper or con-venient to accomplish any such sale, assignment or transfer. THAT the existing resolution concerning the opening of the Uni-versity safe deposit box be amended. This now reads as follows
