Hill, will find it possible to make the trig to Egypt during this co lege year in order to study with Dr. Watson the question of land and buildings and the many other problems which confront the University. 74. ADJOURNMENT After a closing prayer by W. I. Chamberlain, the FOR Trustees, adjourned at 1 P.M. for lunch. During LUNCH the luncheon period, Dr. Hill read a recent letter from Dr. Watson describing the enrolment for the new college year. Mr. W. S. George gave an inter-esting report on his recent visit to Cairo. Mr. H. W. Vandersall, a former short term teacher now under appointment as permanent prof-essor of the University, gave a very enthusiastic and informing report of the work which is being accomplished in Egypt. This was followed by a serious discussion of the difficulties which confront the Univ-ersity in presenting the full Christian message to a distinctly Mo-hammedan student body. With the full confidence in Dr, Watson and in the other members of the University staff, the Trustees see in this situation only the need for greater faith in God and more earnest prayer that the University may be faithful in fulfilling its purpose. AFTERNCON SESSION 75. BOARD REC ONV ?TES The Trustees reconvened at 2:15 P.M. with Dr. W. B. Hill, Chairman, presiding. Dr. Hill open-ed the meeting with prayer. Dr. J. K. McClurkin, Chairman of the Committee, presented the report. This report was received, discussed and approved. (seeAppendix G.) The committee having reviewed the complete information furnished by Dr. Watson, the following recommend-ations were adopted:- a. That the appointment of William A. Eddy as associate prof-essor, to be attached to the Department of English of the College of Arts and Sciences, be confirmed with a view to his sailing for Egypt in the fall of 1923. b. That the appointment of Mr. A. Jeffery be made regular in accordance with the other appointments as from the fall of 1921. This would give him the status of associate professor for the present, and would make his first term of service to expire in the summer of 1926 and would sub-ject him as to further appointment and all other questions to the ordinary rules and regulations of the Trustees. c. That the proposals re W. C. McQuiston submitted by Dr. Watson under Sate of May l2, 1922, 17 approved. These pro-posals are as follows: (1) .
