This Master's thesis examines the energy infrastructure in the Finnish capital Helsinki and has been made as a part of a Siemens executed study for Helsinki. The methodology used for this study is therefore defined by Siemens. The infrastructure areas under investigation are energy supply, energy consumption of buildings and energy distribution. In the first two areas the current situation and a hypothetical BAU situation without any energy saving measures taken into account are presented. Also the consequential CO2 emissions are calculated as well as alternative potential future scenarios.
