Report: "Prepayment Plan Studies of Alternatives", 1967-1969, page 2of these pumping power would be purchased commercially and a portion of surplus power revenues from Hoover Dam and the Parker-Davis Project after payout would be utilized to assist in repayment of the Central Arizona Project. The second plan in this category includes a source of low-cost pumping power and is substantially the plan we are recommending at this time. In category two it was concluded that a plan including the high Hualapai Dam alone was the most attractive of the various combinations involving hydro dams, and this plan was considered further. In the third category, two plans were considered further. The first included a combination of an 1,800 megawatt pumped storage powerplant combined with Federal prepayment of a portion of a large nuclear powerplant. The second plan in this category involved Federal construction and operation of a 2,350 megawatt nuclear powerplant.
