This paper analyses the sculptures that represents the Virgin Mary and the Child of the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern period in Jerez de la Frontera with the aim of framing them chronologically and in their appropriate aesthetic and devotional uses. For this purpose, firstly, it has been established a historical-artistic context to approach an understanding of the Mariology´s phenomenon in Jerez and its surroundings. Then, the production has been divided into three typological sets according to the characteristics of the models.
