Letter to Elmer E. Berry (October 4, 1918)

A three-page letter to Elmer E. Berry from an unknown sender, dated October 4th, 1918. In this letter, the sender tells Berry about his experiences working with the French government and other positions overseas. They also wonder about the happenings of International Y.M.C.A College (Springfield College) and ask Berry if they are needed there.Elmer Berry graduated from Springfield College in 1902 and was an instructor in anatomy, gymnastics, and athletics before receiving a MPE degree there in 1908. Later, he was a professor of physical education and physiology at the college. He received EdM and EdD degrees at Harvard University and was the author of several articles on physical education. In 1927, he was called to the National YMCA, College of Physical Education in Saidapet, Madras, India, and served as acting principal for two years. He retired from the YMCA service in 1939 after thirty-four years of service.
