IMPACTO EMOCIONAL Y CAMBIOS INMUNOLÓGICOS EN LA NOTIFICACIÓN DIAGNÓSTICA DE SEROPOSITIVIDAD

The aim of this study is examine the adaptive response profile during a period of acute stress as a function of anticipation and reaction to positive HIV serostatus notification in prison inmates, according to the degree of relationship between immunomodulator phenomenon (deterioration of T lymphocytary response versus P.H.A.) and psychological and psychopathological variables. Subjects suffering of a psychiatric disease and those with the highest emotional reactivity showed an altered T-lymphocitary response at the beginning of the diagnostic report, followed by a slow and progressive recovery. The most sensitive measure of the influence of the emotional factors is the T lymphocytary response when stimulated by a marker of the cellular immunity. Anxiety and depression feelings follow a similar pattern. Altogether, emotional and immunological reactions follow a U curve.El objetivo de este estudio es examinar el perfil de respuesta adaptativa durante un período de estrés agudo anticipatorio al ser informado del diagnóstico de VIH positivo en población penitenciaria, atendiendo al grado de relación entre el fenómeno inmunomodulador (deterioro de la respuesta linfocitaria T frente a PHA) y las variables psicológicas y psicopatológicas. Los resultados sugieren que los sujetos psiquiátricos y aquellos con mayor reactividad emocional según presentan una respuesta linfocitaria T alterada en la primera etapa de la comunicación diagnóstica con lenta y progresiva recuperación posterior. La medida más sensible a la influencia de los factores emocionales es la respuesta linfocitaria T estimulada por un marcador de inmunidad celular. Se observa también que los sentimientos de ansiedad y depresión siguen un patrón similar. Conjuntamente, las reacciones emocionales e inmunológicas siguen una curva en U
