Characterization of oil well drilling cuttings for the analysis of their treatment and their possible applications

En la actualidad la industria petrolera es una de las de mayor crecimiento a nivel mundial, en Colombia aproximadamente se producen 900.000 barriles de crudo por día (bdp). Esta práctica genera enormes cantidades de residuos producto de las perforaciones debido a los altos volúmenes de material que se utilizan a la hora de la refrigeración de la maquinaria y en la extracción del crudo; los recortes de perforación los cuales se generan por una mezcla entre el suelo extraído y los hidrocarburos son materiales de tipo peligroso por lo que se deben disponer de una forma diferente. En general, los residuos de perforación que no son peligrosos se denominan hoy en día “residuos no peligrosos” de yacimientos petrolíferos. No obstante, algunos productos químicos utilizados en los fluidos de perforación pueden ser peligrosos, como los son la soda cáustica, el diésel, los bactericidas, algunos materiales catiónicos, aceites y alcoholes. (PEÑA, 2018) La presente tesis describe el proceso que se debe llevar a cabo para realizar la caracterización de un material producto de la extracción de petróleo, describiendo las normas de ensayo de materiales 2013 haciendo referencia a los ensayos dispuestos a las propiedades físicas y mecánicas de los suelos. This practice generates enormous amounts of waste product of the perforations due to the high volumes of material that are used at the time of the refrigeration of the machinery and in the extraction of the crude oil; Drilling cuttings which are generated by a mixture between the extracted soil and the hydrocarbons are hazardous materials so they must be disposed of in a different way. In general, drilling wastes that are not hazardous are referred to today as “non-hazardous waste” from oil fields. However, some chemicals used in drilling fluids can be dangerous, such as caustic soda, diesel, bactericides, some cationic materials, oils, and alcohols. (PEÑA, 2018) This thesis describes the process that must be carried out to carry out the characterization of a material product of oil extraction, describing the 2013 materials testing standards referring to the tests provided for the physical and mechanical properties of soils. Diese Praxis erzeugt enorme Mengen an Abfallprodukten der Perforationen aufgrund der hohen Materialmengen, die zum Zeitpunkt der Kühlung der Maschinen und bei der Gewinnung des Rohöls verwendet werden; Bohrspäne, die durch eine Mischung zwischen dem extrahierten Boden und den Kohlenwasserstoffen entstehen, sind gefährliche Stoffe und müssen daher auf andere Weise entsorgt werden. Im Allgemeinen werden Bohrabfälle, die nicht gefährlich sind, heute als „nicht gefährliche Abfälle“ aus Ölfeldern bezeichnet. Einige in Bohrflüssigkeiten verwendete Chemikalien können jedoch gefährlich sein, wie Ätznatron, Diesel, Bakterizide, einige kationische Materialien, Öle und Alkohole. (PEÑA, 2018) Diese Arbeit beschreibt den Prozess, der durchgeführt werden muss, um die Charakterisierung eines Materialprodukts der Ölförderung durchzuführen, und beschreibt die Materialprüfnormen von 2013, die sich auf die Prüfungen beziehen, die für die physikalischen und mechanischen Eigenschaften von Böden vorgesehen sind. International angewandte Behandlungsmethoden für die Bewirtschaftung von Ölbohrschlämmen werden beschrieben und analysiert sowie die Anwendbarkeit dieser Techniken auf nationaler Ebene bewertet
