Inquiry based education in the context of the new curriculum and its impact on the image of science and scientist.

Cele pracy mają charakter dwutorowy. Pierwszy to wytworzenie materiałów dydaktycznych w postaci materiałów szkoleniowych dla nauczycieli, materiały te zawierają szereg doświadczeń, opracowanych pod kątem nauczania przez odkrywanie (IBSE - Inquiry Based Science Education). Materiały opracowane w ramach pracy składają się z dwóch części: •doświadczeń o charakterze interdyscyplinarnym dotyczącym tematyki światła i jego wpływu na procesy fizyczne i chemiczne, oraz chemii barw - część ta stanowi materiał szkoleniowy dla nauczyciela;•doświadczeń dotyczących praw gazowych, które uczniowie mogą wykonywać podczas lekcji w formie ilościowej i jakościowej.Każde z prezentowanych w pracy doświadczeń poprzedzone jest pytaniami angażującymi, które mają na celu zachęcić ucznia do procesu badawczego. W pracy położono duży nacisk nie tylko na samodzielne wykonanie doświadczeń przez ucznia, ale również przygotowanie aparatury badawczej. Zamieszczono m.in. opis konstrukcji prostego spektroskopu, kolorymetru, komór oświetleniowych oraz ogniwa słonecznego.Osobnym celem pracy było zbadanie jak uczniowie postrzegają naukowców i ich pracę. Ta część pracy została oparta o ankietę, która przeprowadzono wśród uczniów gimnazjów i szkół ponadgimnazjalnych. Analiza ankiety pozwoliła na opisanie wizerunku naukowca i wpływu zajęć prowadzonych metodą IBSE na ten wizerunek.There are two main objectives of the thesis. First, is to prepare teaching materials in the form of the training materials for teachers, the materials contain a series of experiments, developed for teaching through inquiry (IBSE - Inquiry Based Science Education).The materials developed materials may be divided into two parts: •interdisciplinary experiments, concerning light and its effect on physical and chemical processes, and the chemistry of colours – this section is the training material for the teacher;•experiments regarding gas laws, that might be performed by students in both quantitive and qualitive form. Each of the presented experiences is preceded by engaging questions for encouraging students to the research process.The emphasis is put not only on performing experiments by students on their own, but also on the self-preparation of research equipment e.g.: the simple spectroscope, colorimeter, light chambers and solar cells.Another aim of the thesis was to investigate how scientists and their work are perceived by students. This part was based on the survey conducted among students of lower and upper secondary schools. Analysis of the survey results made it possible to describe the image of the scientist and measure an impact of classes taught by inquiry on this image
