PEMAKNAAN POLIGAMI PADA FILM KEHORMATAN DI BALIK KERUDUNG KARYA TYA SUBIAKTO SATRIO (Studi Resepsi pada Guru SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Mojosari)

Movie as a mass communication medium has a wide reach. The theme and topic of islamic-romance movies are not particularly special. The theme of the film raises things related to romance which has various Islamic conflicts. This research focuses on polygamy in the movie Honor Behind the Veil which tells about the unfairness of a husband in sharing his love for his two wives. This study aims to describe the public’s view of polygamy that occurs in the movie Honor Behind the Veil. In this research, descriptive type in qualitative approach were used by applying the reception study method. The subject of this research were teachers of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Mojosari, 6 subjects had been selected by the researcher. Interview techniques were used to collect data, while the data analysis technique uses the interactive model proposed by Miles and Haberman. Discussion were used to test the data validity. Encoding/decoding theory which was put forward by Stuart Hall were used in this research. From the research results obtained by the researcher includes the audience’s view about teenage interactions in Tya Subiakto movie of Honor Behind the Headscarf. In the Dominant Hegemonic position, there is subject 3. In the dominant position, the subject understands the message conveyed by the media. In the negotiated reading position, there are subjects 1 and 6, in negotiated reading positions, the subjects agree and understand the messages conveyed by the media, but the subjects have alternative opinions. In the opposition position (Oppositional) are on subjects 2, 4, and 5. In the opposite position, the subject completely rejects the message given by the media. The conclusion of the research is that the subject as the audience gives different meanings when addressing the message of polygamy in the movie Honor Behind the Veil, the formation of subject’s view depends on the background, environmental influences, educational factors, etc
