Interpretasi Mahasiswa UIN Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta Terhadap Wacana ke-Islaman dalam Film �Perempuan Berkalung Surban�

This research isbthe result of research on the active audience. Active audience is an audience that did not receive an open discourse officed a film. The audiencr has an important position in a mediated communication procee, even comparable to the communicator as well as text. An addition, the audience becomes the driving force for the continuity of a film. The purpose of this research was as a form of understanding of the discourses contained in the film. This research also expected to complement the study of film, especially in academic studies are still rare considering the study of discurses in the film, mainly related to Islam. In the process of the research, researcher enrolled student UIN Sunan Kalijaga as the object of research with the assumption that they are student who focus on the study of Islamic that is expected to have different interpretations of the discourse on Islam to the offered in the movie Perempuan Berkalung Surban. The research was conducted on 20 students UIN Sunan Kalijaga who have backgrounds different majors. The focus of attention in this analysis is the interpretation of the audience to the movie Perempuan Berkalung Surban and explore the various things that a debate on the practice of watching that is integrated in the knowledge the possess. In this research, found that not all students have the focus to the study of Islam and agree with the discourse offered in the film. Audiences negotiate the various discourses film that is acceptable in social context and culture held. This could affect the dynamics of social communication that previously existed. Then there is some tendency positions. First, the dominant position of students in the audience who receives �the meaning of the desired� and is offered in the film. Secondly, the position of the opposition, whwrw the students understand the discourse of a preferred but refused to do a reading in the opposite way
