Although the recent Women in the Workplace 2019 report by Lean In and McKinsey & Company shows slight progress in some areas in terms of women\u27s leadership, the authors are quick to state that companies need to stay focused on efforts earlier in the pipeline to make real progress. Yet, top leadership scholars Barbara Kellerman and Deborah Rhode doubt that this pipeline of women coming up through the ranks will actually solve gender inequality at all levels, and they call it a pipe dream.
