Job satisfaction is very important for the work productivity of employees. This study aimed to empirically examine the effect of work stress and workload on job satisfaction of employees. The study sample was 40 educational support staff who were permanent employees at the University of X in Yogyakarta. This study used simple random sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using the job satisfaction scale, work stress scale, and workload scale with a semantic differential and Likert scale model. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis supported by assumption tests, which includes the normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity test.
