DESIGN OF A POLARIZATION SPLITTER USING A HYBRID PLASMONIC WAVEGUIDE OPERATING IN THE TERAHERTZ REGION

We propose a polarization splitter consisting of a hybrid plasmonic waveguide (HPW) with InSb and a dielectric waveguide (DW) in the terahertz region. First, we carry out the eigenmode analysis of the HPW and DW using the beam-propagation method based on Yee\u27s mesh. It is found that there exist structures with the phase matching condition being satisfied between the two waveguides in the TE mode. Then, the HPW and DW are arranged in parallel to form the polarization splitter. The coupling length is calculated with respect to the waveguide width
