Bumble bee with its doging hum of a June hay field universal music of insect wings. Chipmuck musical tinkle of dripping water. Loud fault finding forbidding notes of Clark [Crow] larger than either the blue jay of [East] or the Stellar Jay [preeminently] the bird of the highest mountain top. Where small limbs & remnants of the old gl’s [glaciers] yet linger in sunless lanes & [high slopes] & beneath leaning northern [ ], there is the home of this noble [jay] Clarks Crow (picicorvus) swooping amon flexils & two beard pine & the nodding Hemlock spruce. Sometimes comes down as low as the valley rim vagrant adventures [form] [their] own hight [height] homes squirrel mewing beating electric tune with [tail] utmost precision the whole body besides motionless as if glued to the limb, [beating] [] & tail goes over a big [arc] & lands [the] [tip] between his ears etc. tail accompaniment [cone] house flr [flower] & the green shining ones ready to give wings & life to any carrion [tenantless] [x] flesh along the southern wall the firs are in [change] [array] not spirey & stiff like stone steeples but feathery & plushy & feather-like suggesting pleasure to a hand [palm] that could brush & stroke [their] [feathery tops] [no] wind even to move fine tassels purple of rocks, yellow lichens, & gray & dried mosses waiting resurrection of the rain behind is the shallow round basin of Yosemite creek full of domes & rounded brows more domes here than all the entire Merced basin besideshttps://scholarlycommons.pacific.edu/jmj-all/1268/thumbnail.jp
