The Types of Film Translation Techniques Supported by the Analysis of the Robin Hood Cartoon

This diploma thesis describes the different attitude to translation for dubbing and subtitling. The theoretical part of the paper deals with comparing of the English language and the Czech language, the literary translation and the process of dubbing and subtitling as types of the film translation. Then, there is a chapter about important translation methods. The practical part of this paper is the analysis of dubbed and subtitled version. A sample of the cartoon Robin Hood film is used. At the end, the examples for the each translation method are written
