Czech translation of contemporary Italian literature and their translators

The objective of this bachelor´s thesis is to characterize selected works of contemporary Italian literature which is getting into the Czech literary context through Czech translations. The thesis deals with literary works dating from 1991 to 2011, which are analyzed from the point of view of genres and themes. It focuses of the reception of this literature within Czech readers´ environment. The work describes which strategies of edition are being used by publishing houses to choose the works of contemporary Italian literature and it also shows the role of extra-literary factors and translators.
