In French civil code, unlike Japanese and German civil codes and the Uniform Commercial Code in the US, there are no exact provisions regarding how to form a contract or definitions for offer and acceptance. There is, however, the word "consentement" in article 1108 and this is a legal word with close ties to "offer".
