164-165The effect of magnetic activity on the ionospheric absorption at Waltair (lat., 17° 43'N) is studied by statistical methods. A positive and significant correlation is obtained between magnetic activity and nighttime absorption on 2.4 MHz The noon time absorption on 2.4 MHz has no correlation with magnetic activity. It is also found that the noon time absorption on 5.6 MHz is influenced by magnetic activity
