EFEITOS CLÍNICOS DA INFUSÃO CONTÍNUA DE XILAZINA OU DETOMIDINA EM ASININOS NORDESTINOS PRÉ-MEDICADOS OU NÃO COM HIOSCINA

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of continuous rate infusion (CRI) of xylazine (X) or detomidine (D), associated or not with hyoscine (H), in six northeastern donkeys (Equus asinus). Animals from X groups received xylazine (1mg/kg, IM) as premedication, followed by 0.14 mg/kg hyoscine IV (X+H) or corresponding volume of 0.9% NaCl (X+SF) and CRI of X (0.72 mg/kg/h). Animals from D groups received 40 μg/kg detomidine IM, 0.14 mg/kg hyoscine IV (D+H) or corresponding volume of 0.9% NaCl (D+SF) and CRI of D (8.5 μg/kg/h). HR, RR, CRT, SBP, RT, blood glucose, intestinal motility (IM) and muzzle to ground distance were evaluated in the basal time (BT). Fifteen minutes after premedication (T0) same variables as well as sedation and ataxia were evaluated. Immediately thereafter was administered H or SF, and CRI was started with animal assessment at T15, T30, T45 and T60. At the end of CRI, the animals were evaluated at T90 and T120. Blood glucose was measured at BT, T30, T60, T90 and T120. Only D+SF group showed HR inferior to BT during and after CRI. When compared to BT, both D groups showed a decrease in RT from T45 to T120 and an increase of blood glucose at T60 and T90. The IM during CRI differed between D+SF and X+H, which presented hypomotility (69%) and normality (77%), respectively. Both D groups showed greater sedative effect, ataxia and lower muzzle to ground distance. Data pointed out that proposed doses do not promote cardiovascular and gastrointestinal disorders harmful to animals.Este trabalho objetivou avaliar os efeitos da infusão contínua (IC) de xilazina (X) ou detomidina (D) associadas ou não com hioscina (H) em seis asininos nordestinos (Equus asinus). Os animais dos grupos X receberam xilazina 1mg/kg intramuscular (MPA), seguido de hioscina 0,14 mg/kg IV (X+H) ou volume correspondente de NaCl 0,9% (X+SF) e IC de X 0,72 mg/kg/h. Os animais dos grupos D receberam detomidina 40 μg/kg IM, hioscina 0,14 mg/kg IV (D+H) ou volume correspondente de NaCl 0,9% (D+SF) e IC de D 8,5 μg/kg/h. FC, f, TPC, PAS, TR, glicemia, motilidade intestinal (MI) e distância focinho-solo foram avaliados no tempo Basal (TB). Quinze minutos após MPA (T0) foram avaliadas as mesmas variáveis, além de sedação e ataxia. Ato contínuo administrou-se H ou SF e deu-se início a IC com avaliação em T15, T30, T45 e T60. Ao final da IC os animais foram avaliados em T90 e T120. Glicemia foi mensurada no TB, T30, T60, T90 e T120. Apenas o grupo D+SF apresentou FC inferior ao TB, durante e após IC. Ambos os grupos D apresentaram diminuição da TR de T45 até T120 em relação ao TB. Ocorreu aumento da glicemia em relação ao TB nos grupos D no T60 e T90. A MI durante a IC diferiu entre D+SF e X+H, os quais apresentaram hipomotilidade (69%) e normalidade (77%) respectivamente. Os grupos D apresentaram maior efeito sedativo, ataxia e menor distância focinho-solo. Conclui-se que as doses propostas não promoveram alterações cardiovasculares e gastrointestinais deletérias aos animais
