LINFANGIOSSARCOMA EM CÃO: RELATO DE CASO

Neoplasms are considered the leading cause of death in dogs and cats. Among the tumors that affect the lymphatic system can be mentioned benign lymphangioma and lymphangiosarcoma, a malignant tumor. The present work aims to describe a case of lymphangiosarcoma diagnosed in the scrotal region of a dog attended at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Paraíba, located in Areia-PB. The six-year-old mongrel male dog was undergoneto a clinical examination and performed several complementary tests such as hemogram, biochemistry, ultrasound and biopsy. In addition, therapeutic treatments were performed with Glycopan, Hemolitan and Enrofloxacin. In the hemogram microcytic anemia and hypochromic were found. In the biochemical examination the results obtained were considered normal and in the ultrasound, liver and prostate alterations were observed. Histological evaluation revealed a neoplastic mass with indistinct borders that infiltrates the dermis, formed by vascular channels filled by lymph with absence of red blood cells, confirming the diagnosis of lymphangiosarcoma. In this case, and in view of the confirmation of the diagnosis, taking into account the location of the tumor mass, the patient's condition and the results of the complementary tests, the most appropriate would be the surgical removal to increase the patient's survival. However, the animal cannot be submitted to this procedure and died after 35 days of diagnosis. It is concluded that neoplasms of lymphatic origin, although rare, have a high degree of malignancy and the prognosis is hardly good, and that in these cases the patient's survival is short. In view of this observation, the implantation of the biopsy as a complementary exam in the clinical routine is of great importance.As neoplasias são consideradas a principal causa de morte em cães e gatos. Entre os tumores que acometem o sistema linfático podem ser mencionados o linfangioma de caráter benigno e o linfangiossarcoma, um tumor maligno. O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de descrever um caso de linfangiossarcoma diagnosticado na região escrotal de um cão atendido no Hospital Veterinário da Universidade Federal da Paraíba, localizado em Areia-PB. O cão, macho, sem raça definida (SRD), seis anos de idade foi submetido a um exame clínico e realizado diversos exames complementares como hemograma, bioquímico, ultrassom e biópsia. Além disso, foram realizados tratamentos terapêuticos com Glicopan, Hemolitan e Enrofloxacina. No hemograma foi constatada anemia microcítica, hipocrômica. No exame bioquímico os resultados obtidos foram considerados normais e na ultrassografia foram constatadas alterações no fígado e na próstata. Na avaliação histológica foi observada uma massa neoplásica com bordas indistintas que infiltrava a derme, formado por canais vasculares preenchidos por linfa com ausência de hemácias, confirmando o diagnóstico de linfangiossarcoma. Neste caso em questão e diante da confirmação do diagnóstico, levando em consideração a localização da massa tumoral, o estado do paciente e os resultados dos exames complementares, o mais indicado seria a remoção cirúrgica para aumentar a sobrevida do paciente. No entanto o animal não pode ser submetido a esse procedimento, pois morreu após 35 dias do diagnóstico. Conclui-se que as neoplasias de origem linfática apesar de raras têm alto grau de malignidade e dificilmente o prognóstico é bom, e que nesses casos a sobrevida do paciente é curta.
