EFEKTIVITAS PENYULUHAN DENGAN METODE CERAMAH ANTARA MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA SLIDE PRESENTASI POWER POINT DAN FLIP CHART TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN KARIES PADA SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

Background : Education of dental health is the health promotion activities that are required as an effort to increase knowledge and awareness , as well as attitudes and actions. Health education can be done with the help of some media. Media slide presentation is how to present learning materials in front of the audience with the help of visual aids in the form of a slide attractive interaction between children and stimulate children's curiosity and an interest in what he learned, thus the purpose of the extension can achieve optimal results., Flip Chart is a print media sheet contains pictures and posters are inverted so that it practically can be made easily and inexpensively. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of dental health education using the media slides presentationand flip chart against caries knowledge.Method : This research is an analytic pre-test and post-test with two groupdesign.The subjects were all students of class IV and V Elementary School Bulusan Tembalang Semarang of 48 students who were divided into 2 groups. Measuring instrument used was a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability with a number of 10 questions.Results : The results showed that there were significant differences in the improvement of knowledge between groups using media outreach slide presentation and outreach using media group flip chart with the results oftest Mann Whitney (p = 0.031).Conclusion : The conclusion of this study is the use of dental health education slides presentation more effective in improving knowledge about caries in primary school children compared to dental health education using a flipchar
