EFEKTIVITAS PENYULUHAN KESEHATAN GIGI DENGAN MEDIA POP UP BOOK DAN MEDIA BUSY BOOK TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN KESEHATAN GIGI DAN MULUT PADA SISWA SDN ROWOCACINGKABUPATEN PEKALONGAN

Dental and oral health problems in elementary school children are caries. To prevent dental problems need to be done one of the efforts to improve dental health through counseling efforts to increase knowledge. The success of dental health education efforts is inseparable from the education method and the importance of the role of a media. One of the media used are pop up book and busy book. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of pop up book and busy book media on the level of dental and oral health knowledge in grade 3 students of SDN Rowocacing, Pekalongan Regency.This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest group design study design. The sample of this study was grade 3 students at SDN Rowocacing, Pekalongan Regency numbered 36 students, divided into 2 groups: 18 pop up book children and 18 busy book groups. Data analysis used were Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test.The results of statistical tests with the Wilcoxon test show that there are differences in knowledge between before and after counseling, the p-value of pop up book media = 0,000 and the p-value of the busy book media = 0,000. The Mann-Whitney test showed that there was a significant difference in effectiveness between counseling with pop up book media and busy book media on improving oral and dental health knowledge with p-value = 0.02. Where the pop up book media is more effective than the busy book media. This is evidenced by the results of the average value of the increase in student knowledge scores given by pop up book media = 23.89 and busy book media = 11.44.The conclusion of this study is that dental and oral health education with pop-up book media is more effective to improve children's dental and oral health knowledge in SDN Rowocacing, Pekalongan Regency.
