Pavel Šafr, former editor-in-chief of the most important Czech daily newspapers, Mladá fronta Dnes, Lidové noviny and Blesk, recently participated in a public debate which took place in the European Parliament in Brussels and which discussed the takeover of influential Czech newspapers by the powerful oligarch, current Czech PM Andrej Babiš. In this Britské listy interview, Jan Čulík draws Mr. Šafr's attention to deep frustration of the Czech public and asks him whether in fact Pavel Šafr himself contributed to Babiš's rise since for years his newspapers ignored the concerns of ordinary Czechs who live outside Prague. The interview was broadcast by the Czech cable TV station Regionalnitelevize.cz from 14th December, 2018
