After the democratic revolution in 1989, a group of thirty-year-olds who had been formed by their experience of life in Husák's 1980s communism took over power. These people are still running the Czech Republic now, they are now in their sixties. They were shaped in their youth by the experience of living in a primitive regime, isolated from the outside world. Their values are still being imposed on the Czech Republic now.
