Evaluation of The Competency-Based Human Resource Development

Many organizations focus more on strategy of how to develop employees� competencies to maximize result of human resource management that has been grouped into planning, recruitment, selection, training, and employee development. Competency is a combination of knowledge, skill, self-concept, attitude, values, trait, and motive. It is essential to identify competency gaps to maintain productivity so that competency-based human resource managemen will help to ensure that human resource management system is on the right track. The objectives of this research are to analyze the relationship between competency mapping and competency-based human resource management and to evaluate the implementation of competency mapping on specific job level at PT. Gamatechno Indonesia. There were nine interviews conducted in this research and thirty questionnaires distributed to directors, managers, and employees of PT. Gamatechno Indonesia. Based on this research, the organization will have an idea of allocate their resources in the right roles, and enable the organization to achieve competitive advantages. This thesis was done as a case study research. The result and discussion were combined from result on research and theory of competency mapping and competency based human resource management to the current situations in the organization. From the finding, the most successful competencies that have been implemented by the management of Gamatechno is Gamatechno�s corporate values which includes of customer satisfaction, resourcefulness, truthfulness, excitement, and dedication. Unfortunately, the success of Gamatechno�s corporate values is not followed by the competencies of leadership and influence and group process. These competencies are needed to enhance more because they are in the lowest rank for the group of managers and employees
